KIRI NICASTRO 

 

I am a young Artist, mostly working through the mediums of photography, filmmaking, and writing. The aim of my work is to explore themes relating to nature, nostalgia, dreams, and sometimes surrealism. 

 

Often I write to explore my own emotions and how I feel about different situations in my life - I keep diaries, and then scan my own thoughts and feelings in order to gain a premediated insight that helps me with ideas for films and photography, sometimes combining the elements of writing and visual/moving image. 

 

My work is based on ideas that often explore the human psyche - including depression, anxiety, loneliness, longing, the feeling of stagnancy in contrast with being alive. It's a kind of beautiful sadness that I explore through image and text.
